Turn down to the Big Lake where Louise’s Place looks out at Agate Bay.
Often overlooked because its gems are tucked away off the main drag, Two Harbors is a beautiful destination.
If you’ve passed through on your way to someplace else, come down to the water’s edge and find out for yourself why it’s a wonderful place to spend a few hours, a couple of days, or a lifetime (that’s what we locals think!)
Within a skipping – stone’s – throw of the water’s edge, Louise’s Place is a great place to get a great cup of coffee or tea and:
- Gaze out the window. You’ll see our harbor’s Breakwall extending a third of a mile out into the Lake where you can walk and take in the fresh air from our inland sea.
- And working Ore Docks. Most months of the year you might even be able to watch a 1000-footer maneuver carefully into dock to load taconite pellets.
- Bring your laptop. Get some work done or socialize. Fast wifi available for you to check your facebook or email.
- Meet with friends. Catch up, slow down, eat together.
The warmth and delicious smells wafting from the oven make Louise’s Place just about the coziest place in town. Great trails for winter hiking, snowshoeing, and groomed cross-country ski trails lie within the city limits. Come in and get warmed up after your snow adventures.
On a hot summer day stop in for a bite to eat and a cold drink, and catch a cool breeze from the world’s biggest air conditioner, Lake Superior. Dine al fresco at our shady sidewalk tables, then stroll down to the Historic Train Depot Museum, tour the Edna G tugboat, or catch the stunning view from the top of our working Lighthouse/Bed and Breakfast.
